Policy Statement
The Kashf Initiative is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and respectful environment for all individuals. We believe that diversity enriches our community and strengthens our ability to support learners and researchers from various backgrounds. Discrimination in any form undermines these values and will not be tolerated within our organization.
Scope
This policy applies to all individuals associated with the Kashf Initiative, including but not limited to staff, volunteers, participants, collaborators, and stakeholders. It encompasses all interactions, activities, and communications conducted under the auspices of the initiative, whether online or in person.
Prohibited Conduct
Discrimination, harassment, or any behavior that marginalizes individuals based on, but not limited to, the following protected characteristics is strictly prohibited:
- Race, ethnicity, caste, class or national origin
- Gender, gender identity, or gender expression
- Sexual orientation
- Religion or belief system
- Disability, chronic illness, or medical condition
- Age
- Socioeconomic status
- Marital or parental status
Commitments
Inclusive Practices: We will actively promote practices that ensure equal opportunities for all, and fair access to resources and events.
Awareness and Education: Regular workshops, training sessions, and resources will be made available to educate members about diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Accessibility: We are committed to creating accessible spaces and resources for all participants, including accommodations for those with disabilities or specific needs.
Reporting and Resolution
Reporting Mechanism: Any individual who experiences or witnesses discrimination, harassment, or other prohibited conduct is encouraged to report the incident promptly to the Kashf Initiative’s designated grievance redressal email. Reports can be made anonymously if desired.
Investigation:All reports will be handled with sensitivity and confidentiality. The designated officer will investigate the matter thoroughly and impartially.
Resolution: Appropriate actions, including mediation, disciplinary measures, or referrals to external authorities, will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. The outcome will prioritize fairness and the well-being of the affected individual(s).
Accountability
All members of the Kashf Initiative are expected to uphold this policy and contribute to a positive and respectful environment. Failure to comply with this policy may result in removal from the initiative or other disciplinary measures, as deemed appropriate.
Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its relevance and effectiveness. Feedback from the community will be incorporated to improve its implementation and scope.
